
Charred Early Sprouting Broccoli with Oregano, Thyme, Meyer Lemon, and Goat Cheese
This dish for herbed sprouting broccoli with Meyer lemon and Goat cheese makes a nice starter to grilled meat.
Ingredients
- 1 pound sprouting broccoli , ends trimmed, plus leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano leaves , chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves , chopped
- Juice and zest from 1 Meyer lemon
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon plain goat cheese , crumbled
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Heat the olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli and leaves to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the oregano, thyme, lemon juice and zest, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring. Remove from the heat.
- Transfer the skillet, covered, to the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender. Remove from the oven.
- Transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle the goat cheese over the top. Serve right away.
